The only problem with standard U-bolts is how they tighten, all of the force is concentrated to one side of the bolt potentially causing damage to your mast or bracket when over tightened or leading to the connection being unsafe if under tightened. Our heavy duty Jaw V-bolts deploy a strong metal jaw that provide an even amount of force all around the mast in use and bracket when tightened.
