Blyss 10L dehumidifier

Bought a Blyss 10L dehumidifer in early December 2015 It worked well for a few weeks then continued running but stopped extracting water. Returned to the Redruth store and was issued with a credit note. Picked up another Blyss 10L dehumidifier this one worked for only a couple of days before doing exactly the same thing as the first one i.e. running continuously but not extracting water. Returned and got another credit note Did not want a third Blyss dehumidifier.
Standby mode does not work
CJP Devon - 4 years ago
The unit can be either "on" (with specified humidity level); "standby"; or "off.
I assumed that standby would have the fan and compressor on until the humidity reached the specified level, then stop. Actually, standby is the same as "off". Nothing happens. Turn it "on" and the compressor runs only until the humidity is at the specified level, but the fan runs continuously (hence the complaints about noise above!) Have tried two units; both the same. Refund tomorrow.
Completley Unreliable Product

I purchased this Dehumidifier in Decemebr 2015. After a very promising start, sadly after about two weeks it stopped collecting water. I returned the product to my local store and exchanged for a new one. Since then I have had to return the dehumidifier FOUR times in the space of 2 months!!! The product works well initially for a week or two and then it simply stops collecting water. Also the booklet they give you with it, instructing you how to clean it, is actually for the 16L dehumidifier, and not the model stated. I exchanged the latest dehumidifer yesterday and have no hopes of it currently lasting more than the usual two weeks. Completely unacceptable for the amount of money paid for the product. Will never buy another blyss product from b&q.

I bought this earlier this year after my shower joint started seeping. This wasn't noticed until it had saturated the kitchen wall downstairs, seeped into the backs of the cabinets and shorted out my cooker switch. After isolating the leak I went and bought this product. I set it running, started in the kitchen then the bathroom (to dry the joists), then back to the kitchen.
When I finally arranged to make a claim with the insurers, they sent round an assessor. To my good luck, the De-Humidifier had dried out my house and he could find no dampness anywhere. Thereby withdrew my claim and saved on next years insurance costs.
Brilliant. Definitely recommend.
Also cheaper to air clothes than using washer dryer.

I have tried many of them from £40 to £150 and this one works the best and it is noisy (I can no sleep with it on) but it is still not that loud as the others I had. It makes the air in the room fresh and also save some heating cost (when used in small flats) but unfortunatelly it has stopped collecting water after about 6 moths so I returned it to store. I wanted to swap it for the same but it was out of stock so I was offered full refund. Nice service in store!
