I bought this for digging out the roots from 3 cypress trees which I had chopped down and it made the task relatively straightforward.

Used this for the first time, swing, lever a fist size rock out of the soil and snap! Right by the head. Woefully inadequate for the purpose . Took it back for a refund

Solid piece of kit.

Bought this to help remove a tree stump. This mattock was a god send. Used it also for digging path, moving soil, digging footings.
Well worth the money and I abused it rotten so definitely sturdy!
