Product information

The Cim-Tek Tank Dryer is a fuel tank water absorber, which has been developed in response to the increasing concerns regarding water contamination of fuel. By checking for, and removing any unwanted water, the Tank Dryer reduces the damaging impact that this contamination has on machinery and vehicles. The Tank Dryer, or ‘tank sock’ as it is often referred to absorbs up to 350ml of water when lowered into the tank.

    Features and benefits

    • The Cim-Tek tank dryer is a unique product which enables you to absorb water from your fuel tank without the need to install filters or conduct an expensive pump out. The Cim-Tek tank dryer is perfect for both single-skin and bunded tanks.
    • Each unit absorbs up to 440ml of water from the tank before becoming full and begins to work as soon as it is placed in the tank.
    • It's a great preventative measure to ensure water isn't getting into your fuel lines. Simply replace every few months and never worry about small water ingress over time.
    • Simply lower one or more tank dryers into the fuel storage tank through either the fill point, vent or inspection hatch and then tie them off using the supplied oil-resistant cord.
    • Once placed in the tank the absorbent sock will begin to work straight away and within one hour is ready to be checked. After a week the tank dryer should be removed from the tank, it is easy to pass the swollen sock back through the fill point even when full.
    • Water can be found in fuel tanks through a variety of sources, mostly caused by condensation on the inner tank wall which coalesces and settles at the bottom of the tank over time. Rain and even melting snow which enters the tank through the vent (or open lid) can also contribute to the amount of water collected.
