I had used B&Q's own brand paint and varnish some years ago. As an X Painter/Decorator I found the paints had great quality and coverage. I recently used the Mahogany water based varnish on my window sills and they have come up beautiful with a rich deep red mahogany colour. It goes on like an opaque coating but dries out a solid colour, fantastic, would recommend.

    appears ok

I have painted this on the ceiling beams and I am very impressed. Yes it does look purple when in the tin, but as soon as it is on the wood it is mahogany colour and after 2 coats it looks great.

    Mahogany.... Errr no purple!

Totally agree with previous comment. Opened the tin... Purple... Stirred it... Still purple... Tried in on a spare piece of wood... Yep purple!

Taking this back to the shop for a refund. I have always used Sadolin Classic on the exterior of my windows but I wanted something less smelly and quick drying for inside. I opened the tin and thought "oh well, give it a stir, it looks purple" stirred it and then though "it's still purple, maybe it dries Mahogany" Nope, it dries purple
