Features and benefits

Brass has long been used as a plumbing solution for both domestic and industrial use. The material itself has many properties that make it a very effective plumbing solution.

  • Brass is highly durable making it ideal for plumbing works that require a resilient and long serving material. Does not easily crack or disintegrate
  • Brass plumbing fittings are best suited for hot water distribution as they can withstand high temperature. They have excellent conductivity which promotes the efficiency of hot water distribution within the house
  • Compared to other metal fittings, Brass has one of the highest resistances to corrosion. The fittings do not rust, and are perfect for those who live in areas that have water with corrosive properties

We have bought 4 of these 2 have failed. Luckly we noticed the first one was leaking. We weren't so lucky with the second. My husband is replacing our bathroom so used these for the sink and bath pipe work. Both values that failed were used on the hot water pipes so I don't think they can cope with the pressure. Both times it looked like everything was ok however when the hot water was turned on they failed both times. Like an other post has said you don't know when it's going to happen and this is the result

Unreliable

Have used several. Variable in ability to completely shut off water. Just not up to the job. Some won't shut off until there is sufficient water pressure to force the ball against the housing, some just don't shut off completely at all and cannot be relied on. A few actually worked as intended.

Very POOR product

I bought one and it did not close off and resulted in a flooded bathroom. Cannot recommend it.

Good product.

Bought a pack of 10, and fitted 3 to isolate pipes and keep the water on to the rest of the house while fitting my kitchen. All 3 leaked if they were not turned micrometer perfect to 90 degrees. The kicker is, it's not straight away. After a while the pressure will cause the ball to rotate enough for a jet of water to escape (overnight in my case) The ball valve section is also a lot smaller than 15mm, probably down to 8mm, so if you're looking to keep high flow through 15mm pipe with this in-line, look elsewhere!
