Great
Ducks back is great, you can see the water just run off it. And it lasts if put on correctly.

Not so good.
Got this product to paint our new fence panels as well as some older ones which were painted with the same Cupronol paint. Had to paint with several coats even on the previously painted ones. The paint was well mixed but appears thin and covers poorly. Definately poor value in my view.

Easy to use
Easy to use, brushes clean up well. Coverage good but won’t get 5 stars until it last the tests of time and weather.

OK BUT
Supposed to be 5 year ,but I have to renew it each year .( but to be fair it’s the same for all of them and Ducksback seems to be the better one).

Very effective but a bit pricey
NOTE All Ducksback products are recommended for *rough cut* timber only. On smooth planed wood the paint is not absorbed so well and soon wears off, especially on horizontal surfaces - my early mistake some years back. Use Cuprinol Fence Life for smooth planed. To get the proper waxy water-repellent finish on an unpainted traditional interleaved fence panel you will need three coats - the first pretty thick. A five litre tin will cover about 2.5-3 brand new 6x5 panels with three coats. Repainting = 2 coats but you may get away with one. I find it lasts about 4 years but that is west facing in a higher rain area. Very effective product a bit pricey. I also use the Forest Green. I find both the green and the cedar dry darker than appears in the tin.

Excellent product, covers really well
Bought the Ducksback paint recently to paint my long and high fence. The paint goes on easily and it covers really well. I love the colour, very smart. Will be some time before being able to say how long it lasts. The paint is guaranteed hopefully will not need to test this out
