Garden paint that can't handle rain?
RAL1967 - 5 months ago
I applied three coats to a previously painted garden bench, paint gave good coverage and I was pleased with the finish and colour. Three days later we had persistent rain, although the bench was partially protected under a tree, and I noticed that in places the previous paint was showing through. When I run my hand across the bench to remove surface water this new paint simply wiped awayl leaving no trace and the previous paint showing. Struggling to understand how Cuprinol can make and sell paint designed for garden furniture that is not resistant to rain.
Great paint but poor listing

Paint itself is fantastic! Easy to apply and only needed one coat on our older greying pence. Only word of caution to everyone is to ignore the B&Q listing, it says you get 12m2 coverage per litre... this 5L can actually covers 12m2 TOTAL.
Well done Cuprinol

Needed something to do during lockdown, the fence needed doing anyway so we decided to try a new colour, very brave for us !
The colour is beautiful, it has lifted the garden from drab dark brown plus the quality is amazing. Coverage is very good, the pictures show two coats.
Do Not Touch With a Barge Pole

Do not use this product. It is impossible to get a good finish when you try to recoat after 12 months. I have sanded it down as recommended and it it is as though you are painting onto a plastic surface. It will need sanding back down to the wood
This is a good treatment for garden furniture

I purchased Cuprinol Garden Shades because I have used it before and found it to be good. I used it to treat garden furniture which had been outside for 5 or more years and I expect it to provide good protection for another five years.
