Product Information

This Pure brilliant white satinwood wood & metal paint has been specially designed to give a durable and long-lasting finish on a range of surfaces. Simply apply 2 coats with a brush or roller and leave for 1-2 hours to dry - a great way to give the surfaces additional protection. Covers up to 17 m² per litre on average.

    Features and Benefits

At B&Q we want you to be satisfied with your colour selection. Not all monitors will display colours the same and paint tins may not show the same colour as your walls do in natural light. We therefore recommend you order a tester pot online or pop in store to pick one up so you are sure that this is the right colour for you.

    • Advanced water based technology, with the aesthetic properties of a solvent based as well as the added benefits of quicker recoat times and enhanced durability
    • Durable top coat for use on both interior wood and metal

I purchased this product to paint the architrave surrounding a newly installed loft hatch and for a general touch up in our home, a four year old property.

I initially went to a rival retailer but this product was out of stock and so I instead purchased their own brand, solvent based paint. I was very dissatisfied with the finish and so consequently, the next day I made the trip to B&Q to pick this up.

I will admit that I was a little concerned given some of the reviews but the finish was just what I was looking for. The paint has a sheen but is NOT glossy, exactly as a satin should be, unlike the initial product I had the misfortune to purchase.

I can understand where some of the reviewers are coming from with their criticisms but ultimately the finished job looks fantastic and its a lot easier to clean up than solvent based alternatives, which in between coats makes things so much easier.

    I would recommend.

    Great satinwood

I have used this paint a few times now and have found with appropriate preparation and a good stir prior to use, that the end result is superb. Goes on easier than gloss with both brush and roller so should be suitable for most people. It’s a bit pricey but was worth the extra money. Can’t comment on its quality on metal as haven’t used it with any metal items.

    Brilliant White, brilliant paint.

I have just used this to paint the woodwork in my hall, thats the equivalent of 80m of 100mm banister rail, 10 six panel doors (one side only), 10 door frames and the associated skirting and stair risers, some of which was very yellow. The previous paint was solvent based so having rubbed everything down, and after reading the Dulux technical details online, talking to their technical department and watching their utube stuff, I primed everything with one coat of quick dry primer/undercoat, then gave everything two coats of Dulux Trade Quick Dry Satinwood using a good quality 50mm Hamilton synthetic bristle brush. That's a lot of painting and it took me about 26 hrs. The end result looks like a sprayed finish, no runs drips or brush marks to be seen anywhere. OK, three very small runs which were probably in the existing paint layers but none on the doors which, with three coats, added up to 180 panels, with 8 corners a panel thats 1440 corners inviting a run which, did not happen. I am not a professional painter and decorator and I don't work for Dulux but if I did I would be very proud of this product. If you can't paint with this stuff and get superb results you should take up knitting. Of course if you don't follow the instructions provided by Dulux...

Unfortunately the coverage was not great. The paint suffered from runs and drips. I have been painting for many years and this has been my worst experience.
