Dulux Stabilising Primer is a high quality ready to use primer suitable for interior and exterior surfaces. Use to strengthen, seal and prime brittle and dusty surfaces, such as plaster and powdery concrete render. The primer creates a sound surface for the appropriate Dulux topcoat. Ideal for use with Dulux Weathershield Masonry paint for exterior walls or Dulux paint for interior walls & ceilings.

- Suitable for Concrete & plaster surfaces
- Apply using a Brush or roller
- Instructions for Use - Apply 1 coat of Dulux Stabilising Primer with a brush or roller to seal any areas that remain powdery and dusty after the surface has been fully prepared. When fully dry, apply 2 coats of the selected Dulux topcoat. Apply only in dry conditions, above 10C and when bad weather is not forecast.

Easy to apply
I bought this to go onto bare, previously damp plaster; it was easy to apply and so far (2 months or so!) seems to have done a good job.

Does what it says
I applied to fairly new render so may not have been necessary, but at least it’s serving as a sealer / primer. Quite watery like skimmed milk, dries translucent and good coverage. Don’t need much.

Does what says on the tin
I’ve had to sand my walls and ceilings back to bare plaster but still had patches of flaky paint so use this product and haven’t looked back. Wear gloves eye protection as this product is a water solution which spray when applied by roller.

Not Good
This should come with a warning not to use on previously painted interior walls! I did and boy do I regret it. The walls had several layers of old flaky paint and sections of exposed plaster. I sanded the wall down and cleaned it with sugar soap. Then applied the Dulux stabilising primer. After letting it dry overnight, I then applied 2 x coats of emulsion but the coverage was very poor. The paint did not take well onto the primer and was sticky in places. The result is a lot of raised and uneven paint areas which look awful.
