Painted daughters room red and purple emulsion which was fine. Painted fence which would have taken days using a brush before in just a few hours for two coats, came up brilliantly. I use a drill powered stirrer for mixing paint and have never had any issue with the sprayer.
Fantastic item ,

I rang B&Q to see if they had one in stock as it stated low stock on website, they put one behind the counter for me, i asked about how it handled emulsion, from start to finish of ringing to buying to using, perfect, just perfect, worth every penny. I've just made my life so much easier , No mess, easy to clean afterwards, and the mix was so simple to do, it worked first try. so happy, take the plunge you won't regret it.

I bought this sprayer to paint my fence. I followed the directions exactly, including checking the viscosity of the paint. What a mess!! There was so much over-spray, it even somehow splashed on the brick wall thee feet behind the area being painted;not just an over-spray mist but blobs. It took me hours to clean up, even so there are still stains on the patio slabs and the wall and wound up painting the remainder of the fence with a brush. Fortunately B&Q gave me a full refund, but it was still an expensive experiment - never again.
Results defy nay-sayers

There was no mess at all, despite those living in the last century. I masked off the ceiling and skirting and even disgarded the goggles and face mask. I found them unnecessary. Upon drying, the stripes I thought I had were not visible. I did need to thin down the paint my wife got (one coat) with 20% water and it gave a wonderful finish using the manufacturers instructions. That is spraying horizontally and vertically with the sprayer angled as instructed. It was not as noisy as depicted on one of the demo's I watched.
I did make a mistake in the beginning and got runs. These I blotted off with paper kitchen roll.
I stand converted.
I would have given it 5 stars below but it needed cleaning........
