Pros- Seamless joints
Extremely expensive for what it is
This is acrylic sitting on an MDF subframe so its not solid as I had thought ie the same material all the way through. Even the MDF isn't solid, it has large cutouts every 8 inches or so supposedly for flexibility.
Was told by installer that you cant pour boiling water down the sink unless you are mixing it with cold running water. I previously had a stainless steel so was able to pour boiling water straight down it.
Rinsing anything of colour (ie plates used for spag bol) stains the sink even when the water is running. I will be trying to soak the sink in Milton overnight as this apparently removes it but a hassle if this has to be done on an almost daily basis
Scratches (surface scratches) extremely easily though I understand these are meant to buff out
The wrap around of the acrylic doesn't stretch very far underneath the worktop and so if you have any sort of overhang, you can see the MDF. I accept that is only visable if you are looking up from the floor but for the price of the product, a very poor finished edge
I would not recommend acrylic, especially sinks, to anyone especially not for the hefty price tag! Wish I had known more about this product, I was not told prior to purchase by the design team about the staining and boiling water etc otherwise I would not have purchased acrylic sink and worktop. It was sold to me as a hard wearing surface which was non porous and would not stain! They used curry as an example!
