Our ClassicBond rubber roof kits are a modern alternative to traditional roofing felt with major added benefits.
This kit contains the EPDM rubber roofing membrane and accompanying adhesives. There are two types of adhesive, water based adhesive and contact adhesive. Water based adhesive is used as the main deck adhesicve as it is easy and quick to apply and doesn't bond instantly allowing the membrane to be manouvred into place during application. Contact adhesive is applied in a 6 inch width around the entire perimeter and to bond the membrane to any upstands as it provides an instant bond.
The Membrane size is the same as mentioned in kit size, you will need to ensure you have adequate overhang. We recommend allowing a minimum of 150mm to each edge so 300mm to both the length and width of your roof.
We recommend using some form of flat roofing trim around the perimeter of your roof to secure the edges and prevent wind uplift.
Please Also note EPDM Is designed to be laid over Osb3/Timber Boards and should not be overlaid on to existing roof surfaces over such as Felt/Asphalt.
