Like others have said the back plate of these alarms do not fit the smoke detector. Will be returning!
Good alarm but very hard to fit

The alarm itself is great, but the backing plate is a pain to fit, the fixing holes are not in the correct place (12 and 6 o’clock or 3 and 9) needed to make a template to get it right

I bought these to replace 2 of the ST-620 (which despite their 10 year guarantee lasted 3!).
Thought I’d get away with using the same base plate, but they’re a different size. Fitted the new (smaller) plate with no problem, but despite trying for an hour, I cannot get the alarm to fit to the plate. Supposed to be a “push and twist” fit, but the pins simply will not lock into the slots - have tried both alarms on both bases and they simply will not go, no matter what. Will be taking these back to store for a refund.
