Do not be fooled by the description, these doors do not have a plywood outer layer. They consist of a single wood veneer stuck to a cardboard substrate with an expanded paper core. They are of ply construction (wood on cardboard) but they are not what one would expect. On the good side they are lightweight and properly finished. Two of the 4 doors I ordered were partly crushed; I thought that the first one was my fault, but the second was definitely partly dished on delivery; do make a careful examination after unpacking. Overall they are superficially perfect, but they are not robust, and will not take much day-to-day knocking about. The doors did not come with a finishing instruction, but a larger one that I ordered in the same series did. You are meant to paint ALL surfaces, including any mortice lock recess, within 3 days of hanging - how you paint the underside of a door or the inside of a mortice lock recess once a door is hung is beyond me. Finally, these doors were of different thickness to the larger one so if, like me, you are hanging several, do check the thickness.
Cheap but good enough

We needed a door that would fit in a narrow doorway. This was close width-wise but 6" (15cm) too high. The scant instructions said to not cut off that much but we had no choice.
We cut off the top then stripped off the 'wood' from the end piece and glued it back in the space. This has worked well.
The lock block is relatively small and located lower than other doors but it was just possible to align the knob hole with other existing doors.
The instructions said not to use a spade bit but we also had to ignore that 'suggestion' since we had no other bit. By taking it slow and easy there was no problem.
We finished the door with a matt varnish and it now matches well with the other 3 adjacent doors
Overall we consider £24 to be a fair pice for the door even though we had to work around it's issues.
Handy basic internal door
LowTech - 3 years ago
I bought this recently for an internal garage workshop door because it had exactly the width I wanted, and the possibiloty of modification (ideallly I wanted a shorter door but could not find anything suitable).
It might be useful to give this info: this GEOM door is ~34mm thick, quite light, and should be planed by no more than 6mm from the bottom edge up to 4mm off each side. It has a glued softwood internal frame, a composite material covering with very thin wood veneer, and a 'honeycomb' paper filling. The frame material is only about 22mm wide hence the warning on trimming. On delivery the door though well wrapped, was only very slightly bowed but not excessively. It should be 'acclimatised' before use, and must be painted after fitting.
I needed to shorten the door by 6" and acheived this successfully by cutting out one side only (at the bottom) ~5½ inches, but leaving the frame and other side intact to keep the door true, then inserting a new lower stile cut to fit exactly, inbetween the two sides. I clamped it to to glue flat overnight. I then cut off the unwanted 6" and trimmed it. This made the lock mounting block effectively 6" lower but that was wide enough ( 320mm x 60mm) to put a ball-catch at its highest point. The door was mounted with 3 hinges as recommended for moisture susceptible areas, and is just the job.
Very satisfied with value, and ease of modification!
Great Smooth Door

This grained door was perfect for the bathroom. It just needed sanding down and several coats of paint later it was great !

Exactly what was needed. Smooth surface and I am now in the process of painting the door.
