This GoodHome decking stain will protect and nourish your new and old outdoor decking.

- Suitable for Wood
- Ensure the surface is sound, clean and dry before staining. Sand down surface thoroughly to remove any dirt and all loose or flaking material and clean. Wear a suitable mask to avoid the inhalation of dust. If the surface has been previously painted, use paint stripper before staining.
- Stir well before use. Apply evenly in the direction of the grain using a brush, roller or pad. Lightly sand before applying final coat. Suitable for use on new or stained surfaces. For best results apply 2 coats or 3 coats for a deeper colour. Leave 4 hours between coats. This paint pot should cover 10m2/L in a single coat. Coverage will vary depending on the surface and application method. Do not use on painted wood. Only apply in dry weather conditions. Adhesion may be affected if surface has been wet or damp in the last 48 hours. Only apply in temperatures between 10°C and 30°C. Please note: slip resistance will be reduced when surface is wet. Always wear protective clothing (gloves, goggles, long sleeves)

just don't
First of all it is very much lighter and bluer than indicated on the tin - not a problem for me though as I liked the colour and it toned well where I was using it. I used the same colour and brand of fence paint on an adjacent shed. However, my advice with this one is save yourself a lot of time and grief and just leave it on the shelf. I put this on an a previously untreated deck that had been allowed to age for over a year, cleaned using decking cleaner then power washed: pretty much a perfect surface as per instructions. I applied three coats, with the requisite interval in between. The paint was, like the fence faint, thin and runny compared with other stains I have used, but went on quite well. All good and well you would think, however within 2 days it started flaking off despite minimal traffic. A mop down resulted in more flaking, which was even worse when the deck was brushed. A complete waste of my time as I am going to have to strip it, clean and repaint. I used Ronseal on my other decking and it has been fine 2 months on despite it being much older, getting more traffic and previously painted. I would have given this product zero stars...

Coverage Is Awful!
This decking paint is a nice colour but I ended up having to buy 3 5L tins as the coverage was awful. Even after 2-3 coats it looks patchy.

Beware
Nothing like the colour stated, this is light blue grey and drys like cheap emulsion paint, absolutely awful and a waste of time and money

Don't buy if you want the colour it shows
I bought this yesterday hoping it was the same as the ronseal I'd already painted my decking with but not been able to find the same colour again I took a sample piece of wood with me for colour match and this pretty much looked the same. Definitely nothing like the colour it states now I've painted it and I now have to purchase more paint to cover up such a light terrible colour

Lovely colour and finish BUT…
I bought this to do my decking (about 15sqm) and I finished one tub and it isn’t an opaque coverage, you need two coats definitively but a lovely finish after two coats hence 3 stars as I had to buy another tub so the coverage is misleading of 50sqm!

Great for the price
Stripped our decking back to the wood and thought i would need a few layers of paint. The first layer has gone on lovely and shouldnt need a second coat.

This product needs stirring
I reccomend if you buy this item you get the paint section to give it a good shake for you on their paint shaker. I tried to stir it adequately myself but this still wasn't enough as this product had seriously separated. I also reccomend u don't use a brush, use a roller of some description instead as this product is very runny and will drip everywhere .

It is great dye to tge colour let's the natrual wood grain come through, not to dark and a great product to put on
