Disappointed with this
Baz_26 - 1 year ago
I purchased this 750 watt cutter as I had a large job to carry out. After spending 20 minutes putting this together I tried to do my first cut only to find the power switch would only operate the unit when it was held in. Took this back to the store and changed for another, spent another 20 mins putting back together only to find the power on switch worked but the blade would stick for a few seconds before starting, on other times would start up straight away, cuts were jagged in places, the laser is a waste of time as the guard moves side to side slightly which throws off the cutting line. The overall build is of poor quality. Hasten to say it will be going back to the store tomorrow for a full refund.
value for money, but poor quality control

I bought this to replace the 650W version that I've had for a number of years (the motor burnt out). I thought for a few pounds more the larger machine was good value.
I made a few cuts and was disappointed that they seemed ragged (wide and edges chipping) and very noisy when cutting. the previous machine had cut reasonably smoothly so very disappointed not to have the same result.
Closer inspection revealed that the disc/blade was warped, so not cutting true and grinding at the sides of the cut.
Spoke to B&Q thinking they could send a replacement blade. No, I have to return the whole unit to the branch I bought it from - 1 & 1/2 hours round trip for me - so will be returning for a refund NOT exchange.
Overall view - good value for money machine - if you get a good one. otherwise you may be better off looking at something else or hiring.
Diamond Wheel Tile Cutter

I have had a tile cutter for years but having a large job to do with thick tiles on the floor and walls I thought I would treat myself to the more powerful cutter 750W my old one was only 650W what a machine. It has honestly made fun of the job and it is the best money I have spent in years, Well done B&Q for selling it and Mac Allister for making it!
Great Product

I bought this product at a reduced price as it was missing the diamond blade. I cannot review the blade itself but I purchased a similar mac allister blade. the machine itself is great for small projects. I have been cutting 400x600 porcelain tiles that are 1cm thick with ease. currently in the middle of tiling the bathroom and up to now, every cut is top notch. only draw back was the laser, seemed pointless so that was removed. in all, a great product for a diy enthusiast looking to do a small project on a budget.
