The blocks are well made using several different moulds so that if you check the numbers embossed on each a natural random look is achieved. The overlapping design of the blocks also means that joins are not too obvious, again keeping the illusion of a drystone wall. The batch I received are coloured in a mixture of pale slate and cream with less of the brown tones showing in the publicity photos. Fine for what I wanted. On line information about the blocks suggests that they can be laid without mortar up to 3 high. I've done a dry run 3 high on a solid level concrete foundation and I wouldn't risk it. The blocks are not so stable and are heavy enough to do damage if they topple.
B&Q are reasonably competitive on price and the ordering process was simple. They make it clear on line and in the follow-up phone call that delivery is curb side so be prepared to move the blocks on delivery if you do not want your drive or the pavement blocked. A good workout! Delivery was within the arranged time period but be aware that this is over a full working day.
