Fantastic 3 x scene setting. Easy install
Bought to replace Lounge ceiling light with this modern LED light. The 3 x scene setting within the light is great, without any need to change the existing cable wiring or switches, which keeps things simple! All the scene setting electronics are within the light itself, which is clever – as I was concerned about how this would work in practice when installed in my own home. We also liked the push-fit cable connectors, you push down to bring cables in/out and then release connector to lock the cables in place. This is very helpful when installing at height and your hands are above your head - as you don't need a screwdriver. You rotate the cover to lock it into the ceiling base (like a screw top jam jar). There’s enough space within the fitting to accommodate the electrical cables & connectors. This version has cool white (40k) light in the centre with warmer light (27K) around the edge, but there are other versions available of Philips Ozziet at B&Q where both central & edge light are both warm (27K). Having both lights on is good for fiddly / precision work (like sewing), we have the edge light on when watching TV for warm glow. At 18W we found this light to be much brighter than our old lounge light, and we primarily selected this light as we did like the choice of the 3 scenes to suit our mood and activities. We’re pleased we did not pick the 22W version, it’d probably be so bright you’d need sunglasses! However, this is very much dependent upon how big your room is. We ordered this product from B&Q for home delivery Weds evening and the light was in our hands by Friday evening. Excellent!
