This Opal plum tree is undemanding and easy to grow yet produces an impressive yield of fruit reliably every year. The plums are ready to harvest from mid-summer, making this fruit tree one of the earliest to produce sweet, juicy plums. The fruits themselves have yellow flesh and purple skins flushed with red. They are ideal for cooking up delicious desserts and preserves or can be enjoyed straight from the tree.

- An early-ripening variety of plum tree producing an abundance of juicy, red-flushed small purple fruits. The mid-dark green leaves of these small fruit trees are a slightly elliptic ovate shape with toothed edges and are decorated with white five-petalled flowers in spring.

- Opal plum trees are easy to grow in moist but well-draining soil with a neutral pH level. These outdoor fruit plants are hardy but prefer a sheltered spot in full sun.
