Brighter colour than expected but good paint

On our fence, this is a seriously bright orange paint! We decided we had 'Trumped our fence' after it was dry. I suspect it matters how old/pale the wood you apply it to is. We haven't been in our house long and the fence really needed some TLC as it was clearly quite sun-faded. I think the colour shown on the tub is reasonably accurate. I actually quite like the colour as it contrasts nicely with the red roses, but it won't be to everyone's tastes.

Not a thick paint and not a really thin paint. I’d says it’s quite easy to work with in terms of consistency and applying to the wood.
We applied this Harvest Gold fence paint to both rough and smooth/previously treated wood using large paintbrushes.
First up, the rough wood.... the paint soaked up perfectly. Only needed two coats (it was almost perfect after the first but just wanted to do two coats to be sure of even coverage!).
Then the smooth/previously treated wood... well, the paint instructions says you’ll need to do 3 coats and yes you will indeed! First layer didn’t take to it very well, the paint just kind of sat on top of he wood instead soaked in. Came back the next day and the second and third layers took to it much better and made the colour much more even.
One tub of 5L paint did 2 layers on our sleepers/low wall, 2 layers on the 4 legs for our pergola and 3 layers on the smooth wood at the very top of our pergola (only just, we used the very last of it!).
At first the colour seemed pretty bright but was concerned it would be too orange (especially when you look at the example picture on the container and the colour of the paint when you open the tub!). Thankfully it’s now dried and as you can see from the picture it is slight orange but has a more gold hue to it... guess it’s all in the name!
Anyway, we love it! Only time will tell how good this product really holds up but so far so good! ...next up, new fence panels!
