We had the heating guy that fitted the boiler put this in for us. He didn't know how to programme it so I was left to work it out from the instructions. It took me a week to figure out as the instructions are poor. Our previous house had a fixed programmer which was much easier to understand. Time can only be adjusted hourly and the temperature can only be preset to 2 temperatures so basically its either on or off unless you override it while you are there. It does work as a thermostat but I still haven't been able to reset the span which has 3 settings according to the instructions. It seems to be set to the longest span so takes ages to change temperature by itself. Not easy.
Not 100% happy

I have span set to 0.4 (which mean when 20.4 is set it should turn on the boiler at 20) but still need to wait sometimes more than 10min before it send signal to the boiler. Pretty annoying for me.
Didn't work for me but seemed decent.

Bought this and fitted it, only to find that my stat was fed with only a com, and NO (so two wires). This needs a neutral as well, and therefore isn't a straight swap. It would have require me taking a neutral feed from the boiler as well which isn't straightforward for most DIYers. In the end I took it back and got a Honeywell digital wall thermostat instead, however this Salus one seemed good quality, and would have been good I'm sure. Easy to install (if you have at least a common (live), NO (normally off), AND a neutral. check before you buy!
Working great

I bought this and fitted it about there weeks ago and it works great. We had a wall stat that was always switching off due to room been hot because we have a wood burner this then ment the rest of the house would be cold. I have placed the moveable state in the kitchen and now the rest of the house is kept nice and warm.
Alright......now.

The thermostat was a pain to set up, this almost entirely due to the poor quality of the guidance given in the instruction manual. After two calls to the Salus help line all is now well and the device works properly. The thermostat appears to sense how far below the desired temperature a room is and turns on the boiler before the due time, if necessary. This useful feature is not mentioned in the instruction manual and caused some bafflement initially. Salus really needs to review the way the manual is written, I really can't afford to tear any more hair out.
