Verve Steel Splitting Axe, 1.13kg

I bought this axe yesterday and decided to give it a swing today. I know its called a splitting axe but with a couple of mixed reviews and never swung an axe in anger before I wasn't sure what would happen and how it would perform.
All I can say is WOW, with hardly any effort on a couple of logs that weren't fully season it just blow them in two!!
In no time at all I had cut a little pile up and only problem I had was my aim as I started to get a little blase with the action and once I put it right again it had no trouble splitting the logs easily. I started on smaller logs around 6 x 6 inches then moved onto longer ones of about a foot and it still had no trouble dealing with them. Only time will tell if it continues the same but can't wait to chop some more.

Bought it yesterday (though my one has a head that's way heavier than 1.13 kg, sold as 2.5lb, but can't see it here), now all our firewood is nicely piled up. Couldn't believe how easily it blows any log to bits. My mate gave it a try, ended up chopping up half the pile he enjoyed it so much. Avoid hitting the handle on the logs, obviously.

My first ever axe and I haven't looked back after buying it slices through would like a knife through lurpack. The Geordie chopper

I recently purchased this axe and I dont know why it has bad reviews, it made short work of splitting a big pile of some pretty big logs with little effort. I would really recommend this axe.

I had 8 conifer trees to cut down. They were all about 30 feet high and some branches were easily 20 feet long. I chopped down them all bar one, as I’ve not had time for the last one. But that will be soon. I’ve read the feedback after buying the axe and can say it cuts out big lumps out the conifers no problem. For the price, give it a go.
