I bought this Wolfcraft 200 workbench yesterday and it is now assembled and in use.
It is a very sturdy and presentable bench, the folding frame is steel and the top is MDF (so will need to be kept dry I imagine). Assembly is not particularly quick, though not difficult. You do need a medium and quite large sized Philips screwdriver and 10mm and 13 mm AF spanners, preferably the kind with a ring spanner at one end and open ended at the other. I used a builders square to make sure the assembly was true before finally tightening the nuts and screws, which do need to be tight. Once assembled it works perfectly, so I'm very pleased as will be my wife; the workbench will be used to support a vintage 19th century sock knitting machine which she has ambitions to use! My next job is to get the machine cleaned and working, looking forward to the socks.
I'm glad I ignored the negative reviews.

I bought this workbench for two reasons; a) My previous Wolfcraft bench has been tough enough to refurbish two houses, crossing trades from complete stripout to finished refurb and tenants in, and the bench is now worn out.
And b) this discounted price from B&Q is too good to miss.
I don't understand some previous reviewers comments. It comes disassembled, neatly packed in a box. The assembly instructions are pictorial but very straightforward to follow, and you will need a couple of straightforward and simple tools to help put it together. It took something less than an hour to put it together without really concentrating on it.
The first time you fold it up is a bit daunting as you have to apply a pretty robust force to get it to close. Opening it the same. Subsequent opening and closings are routine once you develop the knack.
As for some of the comment I read about it's stability, they're incomprehensible. My bench is rock steady, the only movement being when its on a rough or uneven floor. The work platform itself is as good an example of this type of bench as I've come across.
Negatives: If you really want to be picky you could comment that the nuts supplied in the assembly kit are standard pattern when you might have preferred nyloks, but none of them have come loose yet. And the work platform is made of MDF which won't stand up to getting wet repeatedly. So don't leave it outside in bad weather.
I really do endorse this bench with a full 5 stars. And at this discounted price you really can't go wrong.

Bought this in clearance for some projects I have planned based on reviews on another site that had the product at a 30% higher price.
Assembly was a bit tricky as the instructions could have been a little clearer and some of the bolts need to be attached in extremely tight places.
That said it’s extremely solid and takes some effort to collapse because of that so the reviews on here saying it’s wobbly aren’t my experience and it could certainly be down to incorrect assembly or not locking it out correctly.
It would have been 5* if it wasn’t so fiddly to assemble but if that’s had an effect on lowering the price I’ll take it!

This workbench is not fit for purpose. Firstly it needs assembly - which is tricky. Secondly, the top of bench moves up and down when you apply pressure. You cant fix the bench top in anyway - useless for cutting or sawing wood because it moves. Terrible item. I'm returning it to B&Q
quality work bench and impressive customer service

I assembled this workbench with ease, albeit slowly and paying precise attention to the manual. couldnt fold it so dropped an email to wolfcraft asking for advice. i then read another review and followed his advice which simply involved being more "firm" and it folded up perfectly. i recieved a very helpful email a day or so later, from Ladi (head of customer services) at wolfcraft. this person couldnt have been more keen to help and resolve the problem. i said that it was my fault and they were happy that i was happy. negative reviewers are unfairly causing this quality product to be marked down in price. my advice is - buy it now before it goes back up to what it should cost.
