Fitted the kit (yes, the plugs on the camera cables mean a larger hole needs to be drilled into the wall then you might expect), but all seems fine as far as a standalone CCTV system BUT ... it doesn't connect with my router and Yale customer service are USELESS. Went with Yale as they are a reputable brand, but seems I was wrong when it comes to their product support.

Think twice before buying a Yale system.

Quite a good product few let downs one is cable from camera is about a foot long and connectors and to big as one is 13mm diameter and the other one is 10 mm diameter. We had to dremel the corners of the pvc window to push connector thro and once thro leaves a big gap as wire is about 6mm diameter .would recommend shrink warp the connectors after joining we also fitted a small plastic junction box to protect wires from the elements. Plug in worked straight away then stopped as the machine switched into read only looked thro manual with no joy searched internet no joy and finally worked it out as i am pretty good on a pc if it was another person you probably struggle as yale after sales are useless but working fine since

Fair is a fair assesment.

This is an analogue system, like MW is to Dab Radio so it’s not spectacular.
The 1080 HD camera produces an acceptable image on a HD TV.
The saving grace is the night vision Infra Red output, no complaints on that side.
The DVR has a fairly comprehensive Menu and a more than adequate 2TB hard drive,
I ditched the mouse for a infra red type with no issues at all, I also ditched the supplied cabling which is flimsy for RG 59 75 ohm coax shotgun cable {combined video and power} to improve the picture quality, you will need to buy new connectors BNC and 12v power plugs, this will save you having to drill a whole big enough to accommodate the pre fixed connectors on the cabling, at” least “ 20mm from outside to inside. I had the usual problems as everyone else with mobile phone app but it does work, you will need to be near a router the DVR connected by Ethernet cable, this is not wifi, I used T- Link plugs to achieve this, they have to be on the same ring main, unusual if a house has two separate ones,, another added expense.
You can add a Vari Focal 4 in 1 camera to the setup for far more flexibility which should and could have been supplied in the first place at this price.
I would def go down a different route now Im fairly clued up.
