I bought these on a whim, not realising that they change colour. I already own a set of lights with the same function but with a larger bulb at a vastly dearer price.
The colour changes are slow and subtle and I think this makes it more appealing. The flex is also very thin so can easily be plugged inside and fit through the rubber seal edge of the door. I have used them along the edge of my stairs up to my house.
Amazing value for the price.

The lights look beautiful, don't get me wrong, and each bulb does rotate through the colours, but every colour is displayed at once and so when they eventually change colour, you still have all the same colours but on different bulbs. From a distance, you won't even spot a colour change. You only notice if you stare intently at a couple of bulbs. Would have been better if lights displayed a couple of colours, like blue and green, then change to purple and pink for example to make it more obvious.
