Product description says "Dries to light grey colour"
My experience is that it dries to a light sandstone colour.

Bought a couple of bags of this to finish off a job, couldn't justify buying sand and cement so bought this 'ready to use' product. The problem being that there was so little cement in the mix that one month on it's turned to dust, there is absolutely no adhesion properties and I've had to remove the lot and redo the job with a traditional sand/cement mix. This was an indoor job so no adverse temperature/weather conditions involved. To save yourself wasted time and money, avoid this rubbish at all costs it's just not worth it.

Not much quality assurance

A short while ago I bought a bag of Blue Circle Quality Assured Mortar to repoint a brick wall. I found it rather gritty and difficult to give a good finish, but was sufficiently satisfied to buy a second bag more recently in order to create a consistent finish as I continued the job. The second bag is completely different: it is difficult to produce a mix with a good consistency, and even when I make up just a small quantity of an extremely sloppy mix, it hardens and becomes unworkable within a short time; it also handles entirely differently and has certainly not produced the "consistent finish" claimed on the packaging.

Foolproof

I read loads of reviews and finally chose OP. I have not so much as picked up a brick previously but managed to re-lay 3 rows of a tricky designed wall and a complete repoint of a whole wall, and pick uo a few compliments from passers-by despte being a complete novice AND female! - My point being if I can handle the product effectively then so can anyone!

Just right for most brick laying/pointing jobs

Says on the bag 6:1:1 of sand, lime cement so would appear to be the mix that most people recommend for repointing (what I was doing).

Bought this a couple of days ago to repoint a chimney breast ready for a wood burner install. You pay a bit more buying it premixed, but it allows you to work in a consistent shade and safe in the knowledge that you're using a recommended mix.

The pointing work I did dried quite hard within a couple of hours and it looks the job, doesn't feel overly sandy and was able to stick to a trowel upside down when mixed with the right amount of water.

Don't normally review things like this, but ummed and arrghd so long over the purchase that I thought this might be useful to others, as I did not want to have to chisel out the mortar all over again!

Very pleased, and will report back if I find it does not stand up to the test of time.
