This is WOODSTAIN not paint
Medster - 1 year ago
This is wood stain. It is not paint. If you search ‘ivory woodstain’ you will find the b&q listing for when this was packaged as stain rather than paint. It has exactly the same barcode.
I have no idea why the new packaging says that it’s paint. If you look though at the ‘category’ in the listing with the new packaging you’ll see that it actually says in small letters ‘stain’.
A lot of the reviewers I see have been caught out and have used a stain to paint wood. Hence the disappointing results.
This is a brilliant woodstain. That’s a relief as it’s the only woodstain I have found in this colour.
I would recommend this (to anyone looking for a woodstain).
Waste of money

So thin and watery. 4 coats and plain wood still showing through. Then back to the Good old Cuprunol which never let's us down
Better results using mayonnaise!

I bought this paint to freshen up an old table and cannot believe how thin it is. And yes, I did stir it. I have now used five coats - having to buy a second tin - and it still looks as though I have just started. I wouldn’t have bought it had I realised it was a B and Q product as I had the same problems with interior paint. The labelling was very discreet.
Poor depth of colur

Bought this to cover the hand rail of my caravan decking. I've put on 3 coats so far and the original surface is still grinning through. It has the consistency of old fashion emulsion and covers about as well. Would definitely not buy again.
You get what you pay for!

Bought this to paint shed doors which had previously been painted blue. four coats later and the blue was still showing through!!! I gave up in the end and bought some Cuprinol. Job done in one coat! This may be cheap but it's certainly not cheerful. Don't waste your money
