First Bought this about 5 years ago, every year some bits flake and come off and it looks awful. I have to reapply every year and it gets darker and darker. When I have time I will try and take it all off and use something else. I was very careful with the first application and did everything by the book. To me It's more like a paint than a stain I wouldn't use it your deck gets rather wet.

Covers well!

Have applied this to my existing decking and it covered the old colour very well. The non slip element works well and due to the good weather has had quite a bit of footfall already. Very happy with product!

I have just pressure washed my hardwood decking which measures 15 square yards ( smaller than 15 square metres) and my 2 1/2 Litres can of Cuprinol Boston teak anti - slip stain just about covered it with ONE coat ! I only managed one coat by scrubbing round the can and lid.The description clearly states that you should be able to cover 20 square metres with TWO coats. So the coverage achieved was LESS than 50% of the manufacturers stated claim. The hardwood decking had previous protection on it.Had I achieved anywhere near 15 square metres with 2 coats I might have accepted that and I would have been able to finish the job but as it was I had to make two journeys to the store....couldn't finish the job .......you get the picture ! I have yet to find out whether the finished job will live up to my expectations ......so I can't rate the product or its quality hence one star at this stage.......my complaint is specifically about 'coverage' claims on the tin. As a retired timber merchant I know the hardwood decking is less absorbent than softwood which makes the coverage achieved better than had I been treating softwood......I am disappointed with this decking stain and although the product may be O.K. when finally in situ I fail to understand the process used by the manufacturer to establish the true coverage of this particular product.
