Bought this in good faith to protect etc. Used as described. Melted around one pin of the plug and did not trip! I only realised after trying to unplug the appliance.

The only real problem I had with this device was breaking into the blister pack! Once I had got it out and plugged it in, I found the reset button appeared not to work. Eventually, I tried switching on the power to the socket and it worked! This may appear blindingly obvious but, in my defence, the old (20+ years) device it was replacing had to be removed from the socket to gain access to its reset button.
I have had no problems at all in using it.
