Check bath overflow hole size for suitability
I fitted the drain unit first using the black rubber washers provided but found that the plughole rim was too high and left too much water standing after emptying. Also, part of the sealing washer was visible and not very aesthetic. I refitted the whole unit, without the inner sealing washer, using plenty of clear silicone sealant inside and out, and have had no leaks.
I then attempted to fit the overflow to the bath. This kit was purchased along with a new Adelphi shower bath from B & Q. Unfortunately the hole provided in the bath must be to suit a plug control / overflow as it was too big for this to fit snugly. Liberal use of more silicone sealant seems to have done the job. As the overflow is set very high on the bath its seal hasn’t been tested yet.
On this particular bath the drain is not central but is offset towards the overflow. When installing the drain unit I set the overflow flexible pipe straight up. Even though the overflow level is high, the length of pipe is so long that it bows out to past the edge of the bath. If I had checked this in advance I would have turned either the bottom fitting, or the overflow, to tighten up the pipe run. The plastic pipe has special gripping ends so I don’t know if I can shorten it.

bought this for my new steel bath. Leaks from everywhere and if you tighten it enough to slow the leaks, the seals pop out. Utterly useless on a thin bath!

Not for fibre glass baths
I tried to install this on my new fibre glass baths but due to the rigid washers they would seal around the baths rough exterior. So I would only recommend using this product on a smooth surface.
