Reviews
Poor quality and damaged

I brought this gas fire last week, its just arrived and was very poorly packaged, damaged (the grill was snapped in half) and generally seems to be quite a poor quality product. Very disappointed.

Bought this to replace my old fire which was 10 years old and also bought from b&q.
Gives out good heat output, but the chrome surround is very tinny & cheap very lightweight.
Very poor fit of chrome surround and can easily fall off its mounting.
Also the fire grid is very flimsy & light compared to my old fire grid which was also bought from b&q 10 years ago.
Even one of the bolts was missing that holds the knob on the removable fire grid So in the end i had to adapt and fit my old quality heavy cast surround & grid.
I enclose a photo of my old surround which i had to reinstall myself after the gas fitter finished, all which looks & feels much much better now.
Just hope the fire innards is going to reliable and last a long time.
Tacky and bad fit

I shall start with the good point which is that is has a flame in it which gives off heat - although I think that is more a review of the gas being pumped into my home than this fire place. It is not the most efficient but it warms the room which is what we bought it for.
The nice looking brick effect lining around the coals, to the side and back, are just thick heat resistant flimsy material that are almost just propped into place. One of them doesn't fit properly and there is a really obvious gap between the material and the edge of the opening.
The metal parts of the fire are very cheap, light material, painted to a very basic standard. But you only really notice this by touching it.
Overall, the functionality is fine for what you pay, the aesthetics are let down by the ill fitting material around the sides. From a distance, it looks nice. However, it is suitable for a low budget, and it is better to have these cheaper options available if things like aesthetics aren't too important for you, but I don't think that excuses it from a low star rating.
