The actual aluminium strip is great, but badly let down by the fixing method.
The flimsy plastic fixings bend, despite drilling the recommended size hole.
I took extreme care to ensure that the holes were all perfectly in line, and the correct size.
Now off at even more expense, to find some decent adhesive.

Sulfa - 3 months ago

I know others seem to have a problem with this threshold but having read the reviews I did as advised and used a 5.5mm drill to make the holes for the posts and also used a file on the plastic posts a little to make sure they could slide up and down the length of the threshold (so they could line up with the holes I had drilled)> Having done this I cut them to size, removed the adhesive tape cover, lined up the posts and tapped it into place. Easy peasy Lemon Squeezy. The only problem is that when cutting to size the pre-applied adhesive does mean the swarf from the cut gets stuck to the metal but this just needs removing and hey presto!! Fitted four of these on a landing - three for the door frames and one for the edge of the laminate floor where it meets the top of the stairs and look great (my Better Half says it matches the floor too well and needs a black strip to show the start of the stairs)

This product is very poor

Don't waste your money! The plastic posts are flimsy and don't fit easily. I had to tap them in with a hammer and small screwdriver. I used exactly the size drill bit recommended. The posts bent or came out and the strip ended up bent. I manager to straighten it by hand and used an adhesive to fit to the floor. Thank goodness for Gorilla Glue as it does what it says on the bottle! very frustrating and a waste of money.

I brought 3 of these for our bungalow and I was slightly worried as some reviews were not to good, they are excellent. You must drill a 6mm hole for the pins and drill the holes deeper than the pins. I used only 3 pins and it held rock solid. Make sure the holes you drill are in alinement and make sure the pins are directly over the holes before you bash them in (use a bit of wood to protect the threshold bar). Follow these steps and you should have no problems.
