Product information

GoodHome cabinet and wardrobe paint is a great solution for renovating your kitchen, bathroom and bedroom cupboards. It is designed to be used on many different surfaces such as wood, melamine, plastic-coated cabinets and doors, metal and glass.

  • Suitable for Cabinet & wardrobes
  • To paint cupboard doors and drawers remove them from the units and lay on a horizontal surface. Wash the surface with a soda based cleaner and then rinse thoroughly. It should be clean & dry before painting. Ensure any loose particles are removed. Remove any silicone sealant before painting. You can re-seal after applying the paint. When painting wooden doors, remove wax, oil and fill any holes or defects with a wood filler
  • Stir thoroughly before use. Apply between 10 and 25°С, for best results at least 2 coats are recommended using a brush or roller. Allow 10 days for paint to fully cure. During this time treat your new paintwork with extra care, gently wiping any spills or liquids from the paint immediately.
  • Clean equipment in warm soapy water.

First time we bought was a lovely grey colour but and tin was a complete different shade no matter how much we mixed it… going to cost a fortune to redo first can again… waste of money and time

Mix it extremely well!

Used on kitchen units, thought id mixed really well but left red streaks and overall colour was more airforce blue than dark grey in contrast to my grey flooring. Would look really good against wood floor/worktop and coverage was excellent but you have to mix it really really well and keep mixing every hour. Don't be put off bu the colour when you open the tin and changes colour as it dries.

Good if used correctly!

I've painted all my existing kitchen cupboard doors (which were painted cream) in this stuff, and 4 months later they still look fine.
One thing to remember with this is to stir it really really well until the blue is barely visible. When you first open a pot, it will they'll be a bit load of blue which has separated from the rest of the pot. If you don't do this, you will have horrendous streaks over everything, and the potential for units to be slightly different shades if you do it in stages.
The second thing I would suggest is to key up the surface well before applying, then it won't just chip off as easily...which will ruin all the effort you went to in doing this!
I've kept a bit for touch ups, as at the end of the day it's still paint and can chip

Not good on high use cupboards

Chips easily on kitchen cupboards with a lot of use eg under the sink, and water stains are hard to remove. Need to re-paint after 6 months. Also used on fire place wood surround and looks stunning.

Easily marked & not the colour it claims!

Bought this a few weeks ago in-store, because the colour on the tin seemed like a great match for the dark grey fabric sample I had taken in (painting old pine bedroom furniture to match bed) - it was almost as dark as the tin itself. Oh how I wish I had gone for the tester pot, or read these reviews first, but I really wanted to crack on while I had some time off, so I bought two tins.
Pros: It is a nice bluish-grey colour, it covers the pine really well (perfect flat matt/block colour), the paint (once thoroughly/regularly stirred) goes on smooth with a brush or roller, and a little goes a long way - I gave 2 bedside units, a large dressing table, stool legs & a mirror two coats & still have plenty left in the tin (returned the unneeded second tin no problem).
Cons: It isn't the anywhere near as dark as the swatch, and is so easily marked/scuffed/scratched off, even after plenty of time to dry and cure, I'm scared to touch it. Which is no good for storage furniture with heavy-traffic tops, is it?! It dries quickly, but that can be a blessing or curse depending on what you're painting & how! I've had to touch-up or re-do several sections already. I've now bought some laquer-type stuff to hopefully seal and protect it, just hoping that works & doesn't ruin the finish. Frustrated & disappointed.
