Smart looking food waste bin

Felt I should review after reading both the others. I agree it's odd it splits in two but doesn't bother me, the handle came off on ours, it's only sprung plastic so could probably bend them inwards for a more secure hold, or just do without. The positives are it looks really smart, tucking the bag under the removable clip/rim works absolutely fine and was surprisingly clean and unfiddly to remove and insert a new bag. Haven't had a problem with placing anything in the bag and it pulling the bag through, works just fine. Am really pleased with it and would recommend. Way nicer than the green plastic standard issue ones!

Bought on a whim from B+Q Cardiff, was nice to find kitchen stuff not covered in chrome or gloss finishes.
Feels sturdy enough, even dropped it as soon as I got it home which it survived.
Saw the review below about the lid not staying up, mine stays up without using your other hand. If you're going to get one, check the lid in storie as they must vary in quality
Looks good, but overall a poor design

On first glance, this food waste bin looks great. But, the handle is a little pointless as it's designed to be used with bags. The handle means you can't put it properly on a shelf/ledge.
The bin also disconnects in 2 places which doesn't really make any sense, one is clearly a bag clip but no idea why it splits in the middle.
They also haven't tested the lid once built. The lid won't stand up vertically on its own, so you will always need 2 hands to put antrhing in. I often scrape cuttings from a chopping board into the bin - this isn't possible with this bin.
Also, if you open the lid with normal force, the bin dismantles itself.
The bag clip doesn't actually clip but relies on gravity. The clip weighs the same as a slice of bread, so as soon as you put something heavy in the bag it falls through.
Overall, this doesn't work as a bin and lacked a strong design in the first place. Definitely wouldn't recommend, we have returned ours and are looking for an alternative.
