When I came to assemble the machine poor assembly in the factory trapped the top access hatch opening Knob under the front cover. I had to dismantle half the machine to free it, easier than taking it back for a refund.
Tried it out the, discharge opening is a joke I do not know what the fingers are across the opening but they will have to go. Apart from that it seems to everything it says on the packet

Bought earlier today. Going back tomorrow. I should have read the reviews here first.
A series of teeth / comb on the "output" side (intended function unknown) catch a leaf or bit of twig and before you know it the thing jams up solid requiring a strip down.
I'd be surprised if this had been "field tested" using anything more than a few dry twigs with no leaves.
The "bodger" for pushing down vegetation is laughably useless.
One of the least fit for purpose bits of kit I've ever bought.

Purchased last Wednesday and assembled. Switched on to a dull noise and cut out almost immediately. Returned today for full refund.
Why? Just why?

For years I have wanted a garden shredder since I have a long privet hedge and the ability to shred the trimmings and use for compost has always appealed.
I purchased the MacAllister garden shredder from B+Q as I have previously acquired a MacAllister recipe saw which is very good.
The problem with the machine is the size of the hole.
My hedge is 25 meters long, hence lots of trimmings, hence the need for a shredder.
I trimmed the hedge and began to shred the trimmings, it took an eternity, in the end I went to the shed, got my recip saw and cut the top of the machine off to make the hole bigger.
It worked 40% better, but Elf n safety would have an embolism.
In short if you have barely any garden waste to shred then this machine is fine, but then do you really need it?
No you don’t.
Had to return it

I bought this shredder a couple of days ago using click and collect. I read the reviews beforehand and although there were some negative ones, I thought I would go ahead.Sadly the negative reviews proved to be correct. I only managed to feed a couple of small 10mm diameter( and less) twig/ branches in and it jammed and cut out. After several attempts, including pressing the reset button each time, I decided that enough was enough and took it back for a refund. B&Q customer services (instore) were very helpful and refunded my money. I wouldn't recommend this machine,as it couldn't even handle small twigs!
