I do a huge amount of DIY, and have almost every tool imaginable. I have fitted laminate to at least 6 rooms. I normally use a jigsaw to cut the planks. Thought I would give this a go. Absolutely useless. It takes a huge amount of force to cut through 10 mm laminate, and the cut is poor.
Works great for shortening planks

This cutter sort of punches through the board. It leaves quite a rough “cut” but that’s okay as the rough bit will be at the end / start of a row and therefore hidden under a skirting board or edging. Very quick and easy to use. Saved me loads of time!!

Really? How has this been missed by all these great reviews.
Doesn’t work at all

Brought this to cut my laminate flooring. Doesn’t work at all, I wasn’t sure if I was too weak to pull the lever into the wood as was punching about 3 cm across but not across the whole piece of wood. I even put my whole body weight feet off the floor holding myself on the arm for about 5 seconds and it still didn’t cut any further! So maybe if you’re a body builder it would cut for you, but it also takes 0.5cm out of the wood as the blade is that thick... I wouldn’t call it a blade, might as well get a hammer!
Also it had been used when I opened the box I could see sawdust on it, so somebody else had obviously tried to use it and took it back!

Total waste of time.
I had to use two clamps, and even now it was still not accurate at all.
