After crying for three days trying to remove varnish from the dresser I'd bought and about to give up on the idea after trying two other products I bought this. Plus the right tool for stripping varnish, I'm so relieved the guy at b&q helped. One coat left on for 10 minutes then another for 40 minutes and it did exactly what it said on the tin, stripped the varnish off, one happy customer
thin as water strips like water too

i bought this to remove some flecks of timbercare that had got on some doors. it had very little effect and being thinner than emulsion, it splashed a lot. i think the white spirit and elbow grease removed more of the paint than this rubbish liquid.
Not what it once was

As an adult male of some 59 years I have bought several tins of this over my time. It was once thick and strong and could deal with anything. It's now weak and useless. Ive already applied several coats to a varnished window and its not shifting the varnish. No longer the dependable brand name it once was.

Was abit disappointed with this product had to use a few times to remove the paint. BUT the paint had been on for over 50years and just repainted and repainted. I think this product would be really good on single layer paint.
Does not work!!
