You can plug plugs into it
SteveJ41 - 3 years ago
Picked one of these up instore. Decent quality socket, takes all BS1363 plugs without batting an eyelid. Easy enough to install, and this really is a thing of beauty with its fine exquisite plastic finish.
Coffee makers, TVs, obscure battery chargers, Hitachi wands, etc. this fine example of a plug socket will take them all!
Good value

Hard to fit

Bought this as a straight swap out
Try as I might I couldn't get it to go into the existing metal box due to the rear terminal plate being off centre resulting in the earth terminal catching on the metal box.
After many attempts one of the terminal screws came out and dropped inside the socket,.this should never happen in a properly designed socket.
At that point I should have returned it.
Unfortunately I decided to dismantle the socket to retrieve the screw which resulted in all the internals falling out and being unable to put them back again.
After an hour I ended up binning the item.
Went back and bought a MK 13 amp socket changed out no problem
It looks like B&Q have changed there supplier of "Value" 13 amp sockets as the ones I bought in the past were excellent and had no problem swapping out sockets.
