Not as good as everyone says

The package says "No Filament Loss Guaranteed". Not true for my new Purdy Monarch Elite brush. Disappointing.
My favourite painting brush.

Very well made brushes, some of mine are 15 years old and still going strong. Look after them and they will last a life time. Nice comfortable grip, long flexible filaments and a great balance in the hand. Hold plenty of paint so when you are cutting in and get a nice run, the brush has enough paint to see you to the end. I find them to be equally good in water based paint (Emulsion) and spirit based gloss/undercoat. They clean up nicely too!

First off they lose more filaments than other cheaper brushes. They lose them regularly.
They are soft and do load a lot of paint on but maybe too soft and bendy.
They give a nice finish.
They look nice and are wrapped in card but ultimately not good value. If the bristles werent coming out constantly when glossing ii'd be more impressed. They dont live up to the hype.
I prefer the Hamilton contractors with the brass rivets but dont see them much.

I purchased the Purdy brush on the recommendation of a painter and it didn't disappoint. Excellent application and gives an excellent finish.
