This deep mahogany interior varnish from the Ronseal Interior diamond hard range can be applied to interior using a brush. The varnish dries in just 20 minutes and will cover up to 24 m² per litre on average.
- Gives great protection against knocks, scuffs and scratches
- Surface Preparation - Ensure the room is warm and ventilated. To prepare the wood for varnishing, give the surface a wipe down with a cloth and white spirit to remove wax, grease, dirt and oil. Use 120 grit sandpaper to give the surface a quick sand and smooth out any rough patches. If the wood has an old coating on it, sand away the peeling, loose and flaking bits so the surface is even. Let the dust settle and wipe it away with a damp cloth. Leave the wood to dry thoroughly before varnishing.
- Instructions for Use - Give your varnish a stir, and test the colour on a hidden patch to make sure you’re happy with it. It may darken your wood slightly but it should bring out its natural colour. If you’re happy with how it looks, apply an even layer of the varnish painting in the direction of the woodgrain. Wait one hour for the coat to dry. You will need two to three coats for complete coverage and protection. Before you apply your final coat (whether that’s the second or third), sand down the surface and wipe the dust off with a cloth. This will help your final coat stick smoothly and will give you a perfect finish.

Do Not Buy this product
I bought a tin of this to finish the renovation of a stair case which I had spent many hours preparing, mostly removing the previous varnish etc. I applied the varnish expecting it to give a deep mahogany finish like it "said on the tin". Instead I find the varnish is completely clear and I now have a stair case in 2 colours and have to start the preparation all over again. When I contacted Ronseal they asked me to send photos etc then ignored the complaint. What a bunch of time wasters. I will never use another Ronseal product again.

Great Finish
I purchased this to reseal my front door (which is not open to weather) and it gave a great finish after two coats. The door had previously been just stained, so was happy to get a nice satin finish with this varnish.

Fast drying ruined staircase with terrible finish
We spent days of work carefully stripping worn banister rails and spindles to bare wood and refinished with this. The varnish was far too quick drying, causing it to dry while painting, producing dark blotches of thicker coat, and streaks of thicker coat too. Finish is so awful we will need to re-strip whole staircase - many days of work. Avoid - I have used Ronseal before, but this has been 'improved' and will ruin your job.

Great Finish
Great product to refurbish scratched internal window sills. Totally awesome product covered so well took 3 coats which was per instructions, now look like new. Thanks so much to the b+q lady assistant who gave me sound advice..
