It just sort of sat on the surface. But it says if we do what ot says on the tin it will work. We have yet to see if it does.

Use Danish Oil instead!

I have always used Danish oil on worktops but thought I would give this a try as it says it is specially for kitchen worktops and is anti-bacterial - what a mistake. After seven coats water was still not beading and the wood looked dry and dead so I used Danish oil instead and the wood came back to life. Do not waste your money or time on this product. Danish oil is far superior and cheaper: dilute the first coat with white spirit, apply few coats and rub down with very fine wet and dry abrasive, then top off with more coats until you get a sheen and then buff with a cloth for a perfect finish.

Disappointed woody - 1 year ago

I "sealed" my new oak worktop with this product. It discolours with every spill onto it even grout from tiling or a drop of lemon juice. Come on ronseal get your act together this product is not worthy of your name !

Looks great until you then use the worktop

I bought this a month ago. I was lucky and able to use this before i moved into the house. I treated my new prime oak worktop 4 times leaving 72 hours in between each coat. It looked fantastic. It was really easy to apply and really brought out the grain and colour of the wood.
We moved into the house of Friday. Today is Monday. After less than 3 days living in the house around the worktop we already have black marks around the sink. Every cup we put down and every splash of liquid leaves a mark.
DO NOT buy this stuff.
I'm now going to have to sand down the worktops while we now live here and retreat them with something else. I'm planning on Yacht Varnish.
