Very difficult to dispense the mortar even with plasticiser added. Would recommend just using a pointing trowel and save yourself the cash.

I see a lot of reviews saying it lacks power to push mortar through. 1 - buy motor plastisiser with the gun 2 - always tap out the air in the mortar once loaded up . 3 - always clean out before reloading. 4 - if it becomes to hard to compress, stop and empty it, any pointing gun will break under excessive pressure. This means your mix isn't fluffy enough.
This requires a clean seal to perform at its best. Can be a little time consuming but not as time consuming washing mortar off brick or a patio or running a risk of washing out your pointing.
Should come with directions as the mix needs to be slightly different from a normal mix. And sharp sand may still be a bit too course. Kiln dried sand is better.

Waste of money and time, you'll need to buy a few of them if you don't empty and clean the gun quickly. Black retaining ring gets permanently rock solid to the gun, impossible to remove. More stupidly the separate set of parts you can buy does not include such a ring! It is not a universal plumbing ring (different size and screw pattern) so you'd need to buy a complete new gun set.
After two of these I bought a gun from ''Faitful'' online. Simpler construction, well removable parts and even spare essential parts included in the set. Not needed those yet.
