Leaks, windows that don't open....don't buy

I bought this cabin with high hopes. The guys that installed it were great and for a little while I was happy. The doors and windows were flimsy and prone to sticking, but that's not the end of the world. Within two years some parts are buckling and the roof is leaking. I contacted Shire(who are the actually manufacturers) but they said I was out of my 1 year warranty. They also said the leaky roof was because I hadn't treated the interior wood....even though I had.
In hindsight I wish I had believed the reviews online that warned of exactly this. It's better to spend a bit more and get something that will last.

Delivered in a thousand pieces! Very poor instructions ! The wood although direct from supplier being assembled by 2 builders both carpenters , we thought it was terrible quality ! Plus warped nothing fits snugly ! It's junk , should have built our own one!!!

The roof felt provided was not good enough to keep the cabin watertight, with the pitch of the roof being only 2 degrees water gathered on it and seeped through almost immediately,I had to purchase torch on mineral felt and employ a tradesman to fit it, this solved the problem. The timbers were delivered in a shrink wrap covering which was water tight(excellent) however the driver didn't have a hiab to lift this off in one go, we had to take off the protective shrink wrap and hand ball the bits of timber and stack it in the back garden, this left it open to the elements until i was ready to errect it. Also it would have been good if you had the choice of the timbers being treated with a colour of your choice of waterproof varnish etc at the factory, I would have paid extra for that. Having said all this, I still think the Danbury is quite good value for the money, as long as you budget for the roofing.
