Half way through project

I thought I would add a review as I used this last night for first time.
Now I notice some of the one star reviews here are not using the product as suggested on the label instructions. So maybe have a read first of that !
I removed a border with steamer and simple water but the glue and a bit of the paper that was stuck to that was still on the wall so I bought this product to deal with it. I have to say it wasn't as fabulous as I expected but I have done two sessions of it and done some work with the scraper tool and have removed quite a bit. It is visibly different from the side of the room I haven't done yet. I suspect with 3 or perhaps 4 more goes that side of the room will be clear. But indeed its harder work than I would like !! I also cant quite find the ingredients listed anywhere and as a chemist I like to know what I am dealing with ! The small spray area didn't suit one user on here but it did suit me as I only want to get rid of the border and also the yellow colouring of it helps you to know where you have sprayed.
Waste of money !

Really disappointed with this product I was hoping it would make it easier, but it didn’t. After several attempts the wallpaper still remains. I will be returning the product and requesting a refund.
Doe what it says on the bottle!

I'm giving this full marks, because it works exactly as the bottle says it does. HOWEVER, a builder friend suggested spraying warm soapy water on the woodchip would work exactly the same as Solvite. So as I came near to the end of my bottle of Solvite, I tried it, compared the two side by side - and fairy liquid with warm water worked much better. Yes this works, but fairy liquid and warm water in a spray bottle works perfectly well too, and cleans the plaster for you, meaning less work with sugar soap afterwards... and that was on a wood chip covered ceiling with 118 year old plaster behind it! Theres also the added bonus that you don't have to wait 15 minutes for the fairy liquid to work, whereas you do with this.
Adequate but not as good as a steamer
Luckykaa - 1 year ago
This works okay, but does require quite a bit of work. The paper needs to be suitably scrubbed with a wire brush. It then takes a while to penetrate. I occasionally needed to squirt several times. A bottle this size doesn't cover a lot of wall area.
For the number of bottles I would have needed just for a small room, I worked out a steamer would be better value for money.
A Bit of a Joke...!

I think Solvite are having a laugh here. Yes agree... their paste is good and effective but selling lightly coloured water and charging for it takes the biscuit. Used a bottle of this and it ran out very quickly with 3/4's of the wall left. .... Take some advice, save your money and use a sponge, warm water and a little drop of fairy liquid...! The fairy liquid makes the water 'wetter' and it penetrates the paper extremely effectively for the same result as the Solvite... I found nothing special about this at all..... Sorry Solvite but think this one is a bit of a cheat .... oh, and a joke as well....
