I so love shopping at B&Q and having the opportunity to review my purchases. It makes a mundane activity SO much more rewarding!
Anyway. This was a replacement of the letterbox cover that had happily been covering my letterbox without disapointment or complaint, witholding the northerly winds year after year, until fresh paint rendered it disappointingly grubby-looking.
A like-for-like purchase, therefore.
BUT!
Although simple to install, happily having screw-holes in the exact same spacings as previously (a bit of a heart-beat before I checked, if I'm honest) it has proved somewhat problematic. Now, perhaps I have a new Postperson. Perhaps my existing Postperson has been ripping up at the Gymn, or perhaps the quality of my letterbox cover is inferior this time. Who knows. But, for whatever reason, the wee brushy portion has twice landed on the floor of my vestibule, along with the post, and I have had to restore it, manually, all by myself! Twice, I hear you say, does not statstically mean this is an abject failure, as far as letterbox covers go, but it augurs badly, and leaves me with insecurities about its future performance.
So, dear reader, if you are looking for a draught-proofing interior letterbox cover, what is my advice to you? Well, you will have to buy this one, as there appear to be no others available in the world of B&Q. And shopping elsewhere, may be a minefield of worry!

Not worth it

Bought this item a couple of weeks ago. Wish I hadn't bothered as top brush fell out on second day and bottom brush fell out a few days later. Tried to refix but they keep coming out. Spend some more money and try and find a better product.

NOT fit for purpose.

I bought this to replace the same product because I thought it was worn.
It looks the part, BUT...
The top brush dropped out just like the first one. This was the first post after fitting, ONE letter of normal proportions.
No matter how securely you reaffix the brush, it WILL come out again and again until you are sick of it.
The aluminium hinge recess is easily broken if you lift the flap a shade to high. (I found this out when I went to replace the unit.)
DO NOT BUY...GARBAGE.
I have put one star in each rating simply because the system doesn't go into minus stars.
MINUS 5 stars.

I bought this while ago to cover inner door at first seemed like perfect buy but then one day the post person pushed letter through the door and the top bristle fell out from its fitting. Not impressed I believe it has been fitted to door pretty accurate so shouldn't really drop out of its place. Felt like giving it back to b and q but will persevere with it keep pushing it back in to place, not worth tenner buy cheap one
