Looks good, simple to install but just no heat.

Towel rail comes pre-filled and element installed - so all good. I watched a Youtube video to get an idea of the best way to mount to the wall and using a tape measure and a pencil found it relatively easy to mark up. The mounts are plastic but seem okay for the requirement as the radiator is not very heavy and given its a bathroom, they wont rust. The problems come when the towel rail is switched on. I switched on and left it for an hour. During this time we could see the additional wattage going on and off on our smart meter. I thought as there was no control panel that it would be constantly on, but no. After an hour, no part of the radiator was hot to the touch - hot being touch with hand and quickly remove due to the heat - 65degs or about. The towel rail could be comfortably grabbed all over with only the two vertical tubes warm. The top couple of horizontal tubes and bottom two or three tubes were at room temperature. We left the towel rail on for another hour or so and found it to be exactly the same regards warmth, i.e. none. The manufacturers FAQ states that the bottom horizontal tubes are blocked by the element and the top tubes are not filled with fluid so as to provide a pressure buffer, so wont get hot. I got a replacement unit sent to me, returning this unit at my local B&Q store as I thought it must have a fault. Before mounting it, I fitted a 13 amp plug and flicked the switch on. Again after an hour there was only limited warmth coming from the radiator and again the top and bottom horizontal tubes were cold to the touch. I left it for another hour and there was no change. I returned this unit too as it was obvious there was no fault, just a bad design. In summary, this unit will not warm towels and will certainly not warm a room. It is in my opinion completely useless for its purpose.
