Heavy base - does the job
JoToJo - 23 days ago
Bought this base as it appeared heavy enough to anchor a large rectangular parasol.
Read the fairly negative reviews but have found that it does a good job and has variable diameter adjusting sleeves to get a snug fit on the parasol pole.
Yes it is a moulded concrete block but I found mine was well finished with no blemishes or uneven surfaces. The paint finish (black) was great.
Don't intend to leave it out in all weather's so I expect this will last for a considerably long time.
People can be critical and picky.....but.....does the job well....in fact I'm going to buy another one for my other parasol. So there you go....really does what it's supposed to do.
Poor construction of materials

Very poor concreate and coating materials used in construction of this item, the base is a
This is concreate composition and then covered or painted black. Even though we did as advised in the manual that came with the item , and store them inside in the winter , they still had chunks fall off and became pitted. I would suggest going for something metal, or with a more hardy or long lasting concrete base.

Brought this yesterday to put up another 2 meter parasol on my patio to hide under away from the scorching sun and with a 45mmtube coming out of the concrete base it takes most poles and comes with a couple of reducers for smaller beach type sun umbrellas.
was fine all day but possibly not a good idea to leave it out as it could blow over in a strong wind but most would unless they go through a table.
Terrible quality for the price

This was the only parasol base I could find unfortunately so despite the poor reviews, I bit the bullet and bought one. It's basically a block of concrete painted black but the paint finish is shocking, patchy and already coming off. The pole that you put your parasol pole into screws into the base but manages to work itself loose through out the day and becomes unstable. This isn't a cheap product but is definitely NOT worth the money. I would have returned it if it wasn't for the fact I was unable to find one elsewhere.
works fine with the Pali

Cheap and works fine with the Pali parasol, takes different size poles.
