How to get your Pod Point charger

Following the link on this page, Pod will ask you to share a few basic details before sending you a personalised email within 24 hours to order your Pod Point home charger.2. Choose your Pod EV charger
You can choose to pay upfront or subscribe over 36 months with a one-off upfront payment.3. Remote Site Survey
Pod will ask you to complete a survey to assess whether your installation is standard before scheduling it in, typically within 2 weeks**.4. Installation
Friendly and experienced installers will install your home charger. A standard installation takes around two hours, including your installer getting you up and running with the Pod Home app.

What is the difference between Pay Upfront and Subscribe with Pod Drive?
Both options include your Pod Point charger, Which? endorsed installation, Pod Rewards and access to Pod Power by EDF tariff. The difference is in how you pay and what's included.
Pay upfront is a one-off payment from £949* and comes with a 5-year warranty on both charger and installation.
Subscribe is £49* upfront and £34/month for 36 months. As well as your charger and installation and 5 year warranty, you also get a 48-hour Repair, Replace, Recharge service, so if something goes wrong, we'll have a solution within 48 hours.
Whichever you choose, you'll be smart charging and earning cash with Pod Rewards from the start. Subject to status and eligibility. Terms and conditions apply.
What are Pod Rewards and how do they work?
Pod Rewards is a reward program for smart charging. Every time you use your Pod Point to smart charge at home, you earn cash back. Cash builds up in your Wallet in the Pod Home app, and once your balance hits £10 or more, you can withdraw straight to your bank account.
You can earn up to £100 every year, just by doing what you'd do anyway.
To get started, get set up in the Pod Home app, and add your bank account in Account → My bank accounts. And when you've earned enough, tap Withdraw, and your cash is on its way - most payments land in your account straight away.
One thing to note - Boost sessions, solar charging and basic charging don't earn rewards.
What is the Pod Power by EDF tariff?
Pod Power by EDF is an exclusive EV tariff available to Pod customers. It's designed to work alongside your Pod Point charger and Pod Rewards, so you can smart charge at home on a low off-peak rate and save on your charging costs.
The tariff covers your whole home, not just your EV charging. EDF are the energy supplier, and you'll sign up directly with them once your charger is ordered.

How long will my vehicle take to charge?
Electric cars can take as little as 30 minutes or more than 12 hours to charge. How quickly your vehicle charges depends on a number of key factors, including battery size, whether the charge is empty or full, maximum charge rate of both the vehicle and the charge point and environmental factors.
As an example, EV batteries with larger capacities (measured in kWh) take longer to charge than those with smaller capacities. For example, it will take longer to charge an all-electric vehicle than a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) as PHEVs have much smaller battery sizes.

The OZEV EV charge-point grant reduces the cost of a home charger and its installation by £350. What type of charger should I choose? It depends on your preference – there are two types of charger: tethered or untethered charger.
Convenience
Tethered chargers have a cable already attached, which will either be Type 1 or Type 2. Flexibility - While you need to plug the cable into a universal charger, you can use both Type 1 and Type 2 cables.
Cable length
A tethered charger’s cable will be either 4.8m (Type 1) or 5.0m (Type 2) in length, whereas a universal charging cable can be up to 10m for either connector type.
Cost
Tethered chargers cost more upfront because they include the charging cable, whereas you can buy an untethered charger without a cable.
