About the store

Based on Hermiston Retail Park, B&Q Consett opened in 2013. Since then it has served numerous customers across County Durham, from homeowners to tradesmen. Key product ranges include interior and exterior paint, tools and hardware, aggregates, lighting, piping, sheet timber and electrical components. There’s also a garden centre with plants, gazebos, fire pits, parasols, hoses, sheds, water features and more. On top of that, the in-store team can arrange custom paint mixing, gas bottle refills and carpet cleaner hire for you too.

What’s in the local area?

Nestled on the edge of the Pennines, beside the River Derwent, is one of the UK’s highest market towns – Consett. Once a prominent steel-making town, it is now better known for its range of retail outlets, pubs and restaurants. Not to mention the ever-popular beauty spot of Derwent Reservoir nearby. The town itself is also home to several green spaces for walking, including Consett Park and Derwent Walk Country Park. Visiting on a rainy day? Catch a film or live production at the age-old Empire Theatre or take a dip at the local leisure centre.
